Classes at this level involve the introduction of new exercises of the Classical Ballet technique, including extended development of musicality, dance steps, coordination and improvisation.
Classes of 45 minutes are held once a week during the term. Grade Two classes held in conjunction with the Grade One level will run for 60 minutes, to allow those in Grade 2 level separate and concentrated time to work on skills specific to them.
The Grade Two level introduces children to their first Classical Ballet examinations in a positive and supportive atmosphere, without fear or undue stress.
Students receive a certificate and report following their class examinations at the end of the third term and will take part in our major ballet production. Grade Two school-aged children are accepted into this grade. However, the child’s ability must be assessed before enrolling, where students have had limited Ballet experience.
