Our Grade 5/6 Ballet students engage in a dynamic program that includes two one-hour classes per week: a Level 1 class and a Level 2 class, each focusing on distinct aspects of Classical Ballet to ensure well-rounded development.
Level 1
- Introduction of new Classical Ballet exercises.
- Extended development of musicality, dance steps, harmonious coordination, and improvisation.
These classes are at the following locations:

Students study Level 1 as a pre-requisite for Level 2.
Level 2
- Focus on strengthening and refining classical ballet technique, including the introduction of turns.
- Preparation for yearly grade examinations.
- Participation in a major ballet production, showcasing skills and artistry on stage.
Students at this level are encouraged to take an additional weekly special technique class for enhanced growth.
Grade 5/6 examinations
Grade Five and Six students have the opportunity to participate in Classical Ballet examinations in a supportive and encouraging environment, designed to inspire confidence and celebrate their progress.
These assessments are conducted in a positive atmosphere, free from fear or undue pressure. At the end of Term 3, students receive a certificate and a detailed report, recognises their achievements and growth throughout the year. It’s a rewarding experience that motivates them to continue excelling in their ballet journey!
