Miss Jaimie

Classical & Contemporary Teacher

Miss Jaimie began her ballet journey in Sydney at 4 years old. She then moved to Perth and began dancing with Charlesworth at 6 years old at the Duncraig branch. A year later she was offered a place in Prep A Youth Ballet WA. Jaimie moved to Singapore in 2006 and continued her ballet at the Singapore Ballet Academy, and L’Academie De Danse Singapore studying both RAD and the French ballet syllabus. At 14 years old, she was offered a place in the Youth Ballet WA full-time program studying the Vaganova technique. Jaimie studied for 5 years in the full-time program, completing both Certificate III & IV in Ballet Performance Studies and her ATAR in Year 12.

At 19 years old Jaimie did an audition tour around Europe and was offered full-time places at four prestigious ballet and contemporary finishing schools. She took up a position at Iwanson International School of Contemporary Dance in Munich in their 2nd year of the bachelor’s degree, however, after only 6 months suffered a career-ending injury.

Fortunately, since the end of Jaimie’s ballet career, she has found a love and passion for teaching. Jaimie began teaching with Charlesworth Ballet School in 2017 and is now a teacher at the school in the North Perth and Burswood branches. You will find Miss Jaimie teaching ballet from pre-primary all the way up to seniors, as well as teaching the extension ballet classes, pointe preparation classes and the contemporary program for all age groups!
